About Dr Rosemary Habib

Dr Rosemary Habib is a specialist medical oncologist with subspecialty expertise in head and neck cancers, sarcomas, upper gastrointestinal cancers, thyroid cancers and non-melanoma skin cancers. She is the Clinical Lead for Head and Neck Medical Oncology within Western Sydney Local Health District and has extensive experience in immunotherapy, targeted therapy, chemotherapy and early-phase clinical trials.

Dr Habib holds degrees in science, clinical pharmacy and medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She completed a PhD at the University of Sydney focused on cancer biomarker discovery, proteomics and the development of novel cellular therapies for cancer. Her combined background provides her with a broad and detailed understanding of contemporary cancer treatment.

She is actively involved in clinical and translational research and serves as a principal investigator for multiple oncology clinical trials, providing patients with access to promising emerging therapies. She contributes to international cancer guideline development and is an active member of several multidisciplinary research and clinical working groups, including those focused on head and neck cancer and sarcoma. She also holds a clinical academic appointment with the University of Sydney and is involved in teaching medical students, junior doctors and oncology trainees.

Dr Habib is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based and highly individualised care. She works closely with surgeons, radiation oncologists and the broader multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans that reflect each patient's diagnosis, overall health, values and personal circumstances. She places particular importance on clear communication, shared decision-making and ensuring that patients and their families feel informed, supported and actively involved throughout every stage of their cancer care.
