Dr Gideon Sandler is a distinguished Surgical Oncologist, Endocrine Surgeon, and General Surgeon at Westmead Hospital, the Children's Hospital at Westmead, and Westmead Private Hospital. As a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney and the founder of Sydney Surgical Oncology, he brings a wealth of expertise to cancer care in Australia. Uniquely positioned as Australia's only Surgical Oncologist fully engaged in both adult and paediatric cancer treatment, Dr Sandler has particular interest in the co-ordination of complex oncological operations involving multiple surgical teams. He has specialty expertise in soft tissue sarcoma, endocrine tumours including those of the thyroid and parathyroid, advanced melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, and salivary gland and lymph node surgery, particularly in children. He is the only high-volume thyroid surgeon in Australia with fellowships from the Royal Australasian College of Surgery in both General and Paediatric Surgery.
Practice Management
With over seven years of experience in medical administration, Min brings extensive knowledge in managing day-to-day practice operations, coordinating schedules, and supporting the clinical team. Min ensures the practice runs smoothly while maintaining a warm, responsive, and patient-centred approach.
Throughout her career, Min has developed strong capabilities in staff coordination, reception leadership, billing and Medicare processes, electronic medical record management, and implementing systems that improve efficiency and patient satisfaction. Her commitment to clear communication and compassionate service helps patients feel informed and supported at every stage of their care.
Beyond the clinical setting, Min has dedicated many years to volunteering with the NSW Rural Fire Service, demonstrating reliability, teamwork, and a deep commitment to community safety. Min has also been a professional photographer and has a keen interest in mixed media production.
Min is currently studying a Diploma of Practice Management to further enhance her leadership skills and contribute to the continued growth and excellence of the practice.
