Dr Gideon Sandler

Dr Gideon Sandler is a distinguished Surgical Oncologist, Endocrine Surgeon, and General Surgeon at Westmead Hospital, the Children's Hospital at Westmead, and Westmead Private Hospital. As a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney and the founder of Sydney Surgical Oncology, he brings a wealth of expertise to cancer care in Australia.

Uniquely positioned as Australia's only Surgical Oncologist fully engaged in both adult and paediatric cancer treatment, Dr Sandler has particular interest in the co-ordination of complex oncological operations involving multiple surgical teams. He has specialty expertise in soft tissue sarcoma, endocrine tumours including those of the thyroid and parathyroid, advanced melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, and salivary gland and lymph node surgery, particularly in children.

He is the only high-volume thyroid surgeon in Australia with fellowships from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in both General and Paediatric Surgery.
